About Barney

Barney has worked his way up through the ranks. He has performed in almost every venue from kid's parties, to adult parties, in restaurants, in bars, in magic shops, in cabarets, on stage, at galas, on television, at resorts, at trade shows and at corporate functions. Barney has performed magic throughout Canada, Haiti, Cuba and England. You name it he has probably done it.

Barney spent 24 years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In 1999, he retired as one of their Forensic Polygraph Examiners. He is considered an expert in lie detection and has written extensively on the subject. While with the RCMP Barney also underwent training in various gambling techniques and cheating scams, something he incorporates into some his presentations.

In 2002 he competed against some of Calgary's best magicians to become Calgary's 2002 Close-up Magic Champion.
